The point raised by José is that one should obtain the same result when loading a document with lyx and saving it again, or simply using lyx2lyx to convert it to the current format. When doing that, the document converted by lyx2lyx is missing the default setting for \dynamic_quotes. It occurred to me simply because I was comparing the result of the above conversion to check for \use_dash_ligatures. -- Enrico
