Well, there is no special need for any separate OS/2 info, as it is
running with 'EMX', Eberhard Mattes' (UNIX/POSIX) EXtender, on native
X11R6.3 (XFreee86) or ported X11R5 (PMX). Indeed, the necessary info
for a new user on OS/2 is to 98% equivalent to X11 details, e.g. a new
Linux user will have to learn. This fact should be mentioned. (The most
helpful hints on X/2 homepage I'd summarize as: Read a good book about
X11!)

All the necessary OS info, including quirks WRT all those less
POSIX-compatible U/B/L/S/I/A/H***X/F/D/S, I would expect to be part of
the LyX info pages themselves. I tried to give some info for the less
X-safe OS/2 geek in README/INSTALL.OS2, i.e. in fact very much the
same, a U*X sys admin or LINUX user not anymore blindly believing in
the wisdom of his distributor needs to know. (This one urgently needs a
'bugfix' in english grammar and style, btw; I hope none of my old
teachers of english will read this ;) ).

Perhaps some helpful soul may adapt parts of it for the LyX site. There
you'll find generic X/2 info pages and specialized ftp sites for X/2
and friends as well.

Cheers,

        Arnd
