I have no idea how to recognize PS files. But I don't think it's the PS
format itself that is problematic. I think it's the typical size of a PS
page (typically A4 or letter format) that causes the crash. The error
message suggests that the ressources are not sufficient to display the
figure.

We use Aladdin Ghostscript 5.50 (1998-9-16).
