I doubt it. Anyway, I am trying to start a discussion on this matter
on that thread. Let's see how it evolves and what the cygwin developers
think. I already know that they strongly oppose the use of windows style
paths on cygwin, as the colon can be easily misinterpreted by a posix
application, but a share path does not contain any colon...

I don't want to introduce ugly code only for the benefit of one platform,
so I don't advocate the patch. But I think that it makes sense to apply
it as a local patch if you specifically build lyx for that platform,
otherwise it may be seen as a lyx bug, as you can see.
