I tested the following (on my really old machine):
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~> time qt-4.1.4/bin/uic BiblioUi.ui > nul
real 0m0.168s
user 0m0.023s
sys 0m0.005s
Note that I installed qt-4.1.4 in a local directory. Maybe you mixed up
qt 4 with your qt 3 installation. BiblioUI.ui is the file from lyx trunk.
What are your figures?
