I just pointed this out because going with a completely new frontend
is obviously risky, and we have to face it. It is not fair to blame
unicode, when it was long-planned work.
I just stated the truth: the instability was mainly due to unicode not
to qt4 and my cleanup activity. I never said unicode was not necessary,
otherwise I would not have helped. It you look at the SVN log you will
see that I am one of the biggest committer WRT unicode.

It is difficult to check now, but at the time it seems it was
qt4-only. I do not want to point all qt4 bugs in order to blame you.
But that's how it looks from the exterior.

just wanted to point out that there are non-trivial problems. I trust
that the problems will be solved, but I really hope this will be
before 1.5 release; otherwise, I have little hope to see these fixes
be backported to 1.5.x.
