I hope that the focus will remain. Without someone leading the way and

Quite frankly I feel offended by this last sentences. It looks like
you're repeatedly saying that we (me principally) did nothing good in
the last months.
I'm very sorry about that. My critique is not personal. I have not
mentioned any names at any point. Please check the archives.
My critique is systematic. For months, LyX has not been usable for
anything. Some of the bugs were new, some of them old. But the fact is
that LyX was UNUSABLE CONSISTENTLY FOR AT LEAST A FEW MONTHS.
This is my definition of BEING IN DEEP SHIT.
This is not the fault of any one person. This is because there were
nobody able to do what was necessary to stop this: Define the target,
and move aggressively towards that target.
Those that have tried to take leadership have just been flamed to death.
So LyX was caught in a decision vacuum. It is simply not possible to
implement any decisions that might upset somebody. From time to time,
someone did that, and was still flamed to death.
And it is not any single person that is at fault. Everybody have been
way too fast to complain about the consequences of any given action. If
you take a step back and look at this (like it has been possible for me
and Jürgen as outsiders) it is clear that this will never lead to anywhere,
I am trying to instill a chance of attitude for those with an open mind:
When you are in deep shit, you can not afford the luxury of doing only
things that will not offend anyone. You will have to break some eggs.
Once you have the omelet, you can start preparing the side dishes.
