No, CPU usage is shared between the lyx process and the X-server, the former taking the most of it. Scrolling is not optimal, but there is no problem when trying to add something at the bottom of the aforesaid document. The behaviour I experiment here exactly mimics that on *nix. To summarize what happens with http://bugzilla.lyx.org/attachment.cgi?id=1296&action=view - There is no problem with lyx 1.3 (both on Windows and *nix). - With 1.4 and 1.5 there's some problem only with scrolling in LyX/Qt/X11, but both scrolling and editing are a pain in LyX/Qt/Win. -- Enrico
