I think that extracting a pair would be too much effort, but looking
whether a quote is to the left or to the right of a word should be easier,
and I believe that it would be enough.
I don't have the time to look after this right now, so could you please
addc that to bugzilla (including your test document and Jean-Marc's notes
about {})?
