Actually, part of this I actually consider frontend matter. The kernel is about buffers, insets, LFUN handling. I don't think for instance the actions belong to the kernel and we'd get a much slimmer gui/kernel interface when things are put on the right side of the border. Andre' PS: Suggesting I might have considered limiting LyX to _Windows_/Qt is ridiculous.
