Uwe suggested a documentation team should be formed on the lyx-docs' list. I think it is an excellent idea as LyX 1.5 is hopefully out this year ;-)

With a documentation team, we might be able to get people on the users' list to help with the documentation, but the team needs a leader.

AFAIK, Uwe is the only developer working seriously on the documentation, so I'd like to nominate him. (I haven't asked him about this, so he might object of course).

To be honest, I'm not clear on what the position involves, but someone needs to be responsible for an overall view of the documentation. The details should probably be discussed.

At the very least, we need someone that can say that the documentation is ready to be released with 1.5. (Unless this is the release manager's taks?)

Speaking of the release of 1.5, my opinion is that a major release shouldn't happen without the documentation having been reviewed/approved. (This assumes the existance of a documentation team).

I still remember how impressed I was with the documentation of LyX 0.10 (0.12?) when I started using it. I think that is one of the major reasons I stayed with LyX. The users' list is another major reason of course.

best regards
/Christian
