I've done that, many times may I add. Even Michael has asked many
times and I believe he managed to find the solution by himself at the
end (which I don't remember).
I found a solution for my specific problem but I still don't understand
all the details - it just works.
The difficulties are partly caused by the many helper methods that
result in a high degree of indirection. It is very difficult to get to
the core. Less (similar) methods would be better.
