I am not happy with it, neither. However, I don't use bookmarks often,

Nobody seems to like the list solution of bookmarks, so you guys still
prefer the following (ugly) menu items?

save bookmark 1
save bookmark 2
save bookmark 3
save bookmark 4
save bookmark 5
goto bookmark 1
goto bookmark 2
goto bookmark 3
goto bookmark 4
goto bookmark 5

I wouldn't say the ugly menu is preferable. It is very nice to have some hint -- as with the current implementation -- of what a bookmark will take you to. Here's a proposed menu structure that I'm not sure I endorse (but might provoke something better):

Navigate
        Save Bookmark
                1. [filename1]
                2. [filename2]
                3. [filename3]
                4.
                5.
        Go to Bookmark
                1. filename1
                2. filename2
                3. filename3
                4.
                5.
        Next Note
        [etc.]

Note that for saving a bookmark, the current filename that the bookmark would take you to is listed (when it exists), just as it is for the corresponding goto bookmark entry. This creates the potential for user confusion and perhaps isn't worth doing.

Would that be better?
