Abdel, I have been flamed for changing the colour of the "Note" text,
so you can't expect to not get complaints when you try to force something
which should be agreed upon down someone's throat ;-)

I really hate syntax highlighting. I can bear it in the view source but
the preamble is something I work with heavily and I can't really stand it.

Perhaps that's why I don't use Kile?

I think that you should have asked for opinions before doing the change.
