Why is that? Apple's tools build for both. In fact, why not make a
universal binary?
The only thing that prevented it was the busy lives of volunteers who
are unfamiliar with Apple's build tools. A universal binary will be
built for the 2nd beta and for the final release.
Of course, if you want it sooner than the 2nd beta, you are welcome
to build it yourself; instructions are provided in the INSTALL.MacOSX
file included with the source code. And if you want to help out with
the Mac port, that would be most welcome.
