I wouldn't declare ConTeXt a "successor" of latex. It's rather an alternative 
approach.

I doubt you can use LyX as a ConTeXt frontend. I think what you'd need is a 
proper context support, similar to the LaTeX and DocBook support we already 
have. Nobody stepped up to implement this by now (even if this would enhance 
the status of LyX, IMHO).

Having said that, I think it will be worth waiting until we switched to XML 
(in the 1.6 development cycle) before trying to implement yet another export 
format.
