Good.
It might be nice to add something about this to the development page on
the main lyx.org site. Something like: A good way to get started is to
fix some of the easyfix bugs. This will help you get to know the code,
etc, etc.
Are you thinking about a specific page?
There was a server crash a while back (or possibly I screwed up) and
many of the development wiki pages disappeared. I resurrected them as
static HTML pages via Google's cache. I don't know if they are of interest
to you. See here for a list of those pages
http://wiki.lyx.org/devel/pmwiki.php/Devel/PagesLost
I might add, too, that I'm trying to keep some notes as I myself learn
the code, figure out how it fits together a bit, and so forth. I'll
start a wiki page (or set of pages) about this when I have a few things.
I think that would really help new developers get up to speed. I don't
know how long I spent figuring out, say, how the menus get built, or
what path a function takes through the code, or how insets get written,
or what have you. Just very general stuff like that.
This is a good idea (I had it to a while back, but I never managed to
actually start serious development).
As I said above, maybe some stuff in the static pages are of interest.
I you think certain pages are of interest, let me know and I'll convert
them to wiki pages - it's pretty quick when I use Emacs with pmwiki-mode.
Best regards,
/Christian
