Yes, ArabTeX handles numbers automatically.
Note that ArabTeX supports Farsi but the reasons that (almost!) nobody uses
ArabTeX for Farsi are that in Farsi we usualy don't use (many) ligatures (we
use only a few such as Laam+Alef) and the few fonts defined in ArabTeX are ugly
for Farsi (though they may be good in Arabic). Therefore ARABI is definitly
better for us because of its support for many available good fonts. But in
Arabic someone may still like to use ArabTeX because of its support for many
ligatures though there are a few options for the fonts.
