You got it in one :) I'll add a bugzilla comment. The left selecting across lines bug went away with it unchecked, and then came back again with it checked. I'll keep testing and let you know if any other weirdness persists. I upgraded from 1.4.x to 1.5.0svn and it was checked so presumably it is set by default. If you un-check it in svn though then how are us beta testers going to catch this sort of thing?
