But I think the problem is that translation in document's language
does not work on mac OS X.

Well, we'll rely on that the day when babel supports it...
Unfortunately the support is very limited right now.

Yes, I think we have a problem to get locales working correctly on the
mac. This is something I am trying to work on now.
