Pressing C-m has worked to create math-text within mathed for as long as
I have used LyX.. since 1.2-ish. Also I'm sure I first read to do that
in the user guide.

I'm no longer sure that we are talking about the same thing!

So is the manual wrong, is there a bug, or what?
