Hello,
before I enter a official request at bugzilla I'd like to ask you what
you think about this:

There's already a report:
http://bugzilla.lyx.org/show_bug.cgi?id=2085

Are there any plans to include a export option to Open Document Format
(ODF) which could be read and processed by numerous programs:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_applications_supporting_OpenDocument#T
ext_documents_.28.odt.29

I refer also to a first start at
http://wiki.lyx.org/Tools/LyX2OpenOffice
htlatex can also do LateX->odf. You just have to add the following converter in Tools->Preferences->Converters:
LaTeX (plain) -> Open Document
converter: htlatex $$i 'xhtml,ooffice' 'ooffice/! -cmozhtf' '-coo' '-cvalidate'
extra flag:
needaux
You can also just use `oolatex'---at least on Linux.

Should this be added to configure.py?
