If the crash is unrelated to mouse press in the table, I guess it is

I don't have enough time right now to go deeper and find the reason,
but as this bug makes it hard to use LyX 1.5svn I vote for reverting
the bug fix until we found a better solution.
It may also be the fix for bug 580.
That's what I suspect is the culprit for my similar report today
("Table problems: 1.5.x").
