Maybe this was discussed before:
Putting the News just on separate page is a very bad idea. I want to
go to http://www.lyx.org/ and get an overview immediately about what's
going on with the project. At least a three line news section with
just the headings, linked to the real new page, would be enough IMO.
People on the internet are lazy and every additional click for getting
updated is one too much.
