No, that's not what I mean. For example, when detecting whether Adobe
Reader is used you only take the global file associations into account,
not the user settings.
But this code can be removed because my PDF view application already
does such a check. It's also better not to perform these checks in the
installer, because the user may change the settings after LyX is installed.
