No. This 'invisibility' is at the design level. I hide the file but
users can of course dig it out. Richard's approach is different in
that it shows the file and *expect* users to modify them.

Well, my previous approach used zip (actually motivated by ODF) ... My
current approach can use zip but I dislike the binary part. I mean,
some trade-off has to be made.

Note that Richard has to make his filename.lyxdir visible to users
because he tries to separate bundle and compression using a directory.
I am able to hide the embedded objects because these files are
embedded to .lyx file when they are saved. This is actually the major
difference between our approaches.
