Instant preview for fig image is somewhat broken

Hi,

Don't know if there's someone knowledgeable here (Georg certainly is 
;-)) but I have a problem when using the external material with fig 
graphic. If there's a TeX text or equation in the fig graphic, no 
problem, Instant Preview does its job and the graphic is correctly shown 
within LyX. But, if there's no text, or rather -no latex text- the 
preview does not work, there's something generated but it is one or two 
pixels wide and is thus not visible.

Any idea someone?
