It would be nice to think about a more compact representation, maybe
with an icon (plus or minus) or a well chosen unicode character
indicating insertion/deletion, instead of text that makes the entry less
readable. The constraint in the sidebar is the width. In this sense the
presentation grouped by author has the advantage of being narrower.
I did that with the symbols ✂ (0x2702) and ✍ (0x270d) in the Dingbats
unicode group.
