Well, the code did not have this granularity, but this is how it used to
work. Uwe decided to switch to code that looks at the macro names. There
is a thread about this problem.
Yes, I have been following it, distantly, and am in effect endorsing the
old solution, plus some additional granularity. Your worries about the
new attempt seem to me reasonable ones.
