when i spent more time looking on it i think that its not number of commits, but number of touched files or lines. those big bursts of circles around dev name are clearly creating new branch in the tree. i guess the algorithm is like that - the change is plotted as a point randomly on screen and it moves towards dev name - where it join the outermost circle from other changes-points. each dev has its 'aura' from these points it looks like this aura is fighting with other devs auras for the central place and the more continous commiting the more stability in the center. > You might be able to find info at: http://code.google.com/p/codeswarm/ i'll look. pavel
