I agree with Pavel. :-) The mantra that I repeat over and over (otherwise it would not be a mantra ;-) ) is that the downgrade option of lyx2lyx is a nicety feature for our users with lots of caveats. Implying that the forward and backward paths of lyx2lyx are interchangeable is dangerous (to say the least). With that said what you are proposing is doable but should be done outside of lyx. The LyX.py (lyx2lyx's core) has in place most of tool necessary to make this work across lyx versions, be it using the python or shell interfaces. > pavel -- José Abílio
