You're right. It checks the bundle LyX.app for the path of LyX and replaces the 
last component with lyxeditor.
So I have to "install" LyX.app or replace the file inside. 
The 1.6.7 version I have installed currently is working - of course. :)
So I'm ready to work on that now.
