lyx-devel SVN r37678 (Committer vfr, some Qt-related bugfix) broke the
build process for Debian Lenny (oldstable) because the QProxyStyle class
was introduced in Qt 4.6[1] but Lenny still comes with Qt 4.4.3. The
LyX 1.6.x branch seems to contain a backport of the very same patch and
therefore doesn't build either.
As this is the only patch preventing a build on Lenny at the moment, I'd
suggest using a workaround (unfortunately I'm not at all into Qt, so I
cannot come up with one myself -- but the Qt docs talk about a
QProxyStyle being a "convenience class") -- or introducing a hard
dependency on Qt 4.6 (in both configure.ac and the README/INSTALL
documents).
