As discussed in (a partial hijacking of) #8484, if I build with autotools, there is a workaround to get HUD working by clicking on the menus to generate the items. If I build with cmake, that workaround does not work.
Any guess as to what causes the difference? Note that I don't really care about this directly but (1) I'm curious and (2) I wonder if there is a very small chance that this could lead to insight into getting a fix for the HUD working correctly without the workaround. Thanks, Scott
