Just in case someone hits the same problem as me: I had lots of problems importing files in Windows, getting errors like
LyX: Document formmat failure C: ... Buffer_convertLyXFormat.Xd9288 is not a readable Lyx document It took me a while to figure out that if you are calling a native LyX exe from a Cygwin shell you can avoid the cygwin python etc. by running lyx with something like like (PATH="" /.../lyx) Cheers, -- John C.
