This seems to be the minimal thing that should be done. Vincent, is this patch OK for 2.1?
I do not want to make a significant change for 2.1 at this point (which would also require a translation), but I also have the following concern: We still return the string when there is an error. Thus, if you do not have Maple installed, '2+2' is turned into '2+2='. I think that an error should be displayed and that the string '2+2' should not be changed. Thoughts? Scott
