No, this is as expected :) Many of our math decorations (painted through the machinery of deco_table) does not zoom with the font, so if you increase font size to gigantic proportions it looks as in your example. I'm not saying it's nice, but the current 'dot' version is better than previous 'line'. For normal font size, like in your About LyX dialog, it will be ok...
