Now, the menu entry Help>Specific_Manuals ...
fails to open any of the specific manuals. The terminal says

  LyX: unable to find documentation file `Linguistics'. Bad installation?

Some ideas:

* Could we use a "LyX" or "LyX-document" icon instead of the "gear wheel"
  icon for documents from the system dir, please?

  After all, these are documents are not some system files from the OS
  but LyX documents provided by the LyX team.

* I'd like to see a selector to switch between templates and examples or
  merge them. Maybe as an extension of the "Type" drop-down list.

  For some layouts, there is no template file and it is convenient to
  start a document from an example instead or vice versa: a template may
  give a usage example when the example is missing.

  Of course this is also possible with:

   - File>New from Template

   - Look for matching template

   - no luck:

      -> Browse, or

      -> Cancel, File>Open Example, ... , Save as

  But this is less convenient, especially as the file names are
  ugly in any file browser.
