avoid "bold-like" effect. However the correct backgound color is the
row's one, not the inset's one.

Starting with this commit I can reproduce another background painting
issue. Attached is an mwe. Place the cursor at the beginning of the
document. Press shift + <down> to select the first line. Then press
<right>. For me, the label "code" becomes unselected.
Fixed in master at a71b96ac42.
Riki, if we want to fix in branch, we would also have to backport 74540c98.
But we can probably live with the code as it is in 2.3.x.
