The thread seems to discuss it more about whether it makes sense for packaging. I'm still curious for individual use (i.e., my personal builds) since I think it could save some time because when I'm working on a patch and changing e.g., a single .cpp file, it's often the last linking stage that takes the most time. I would be willing to sacrifice a small chance of introduce a bug in my personal build for the speed gain. If I come across a bug, I would just make sure I could reproduce it without using Mold before investigating it. Does LyX use any "linker scripts", which would rule out Mold from what I understand?
