Would it make sense to change these to "Edit Externally" ? Or is that too verbose?
The reason I ask is that "Edit" is not so clear if you don't already know what it does. One might think that they need to click edit to change the current contents (in LyX's editor) and then be surprised when an editor opens. Scott
