Even when "mark end of paragraphs" is not selected in
Tools->Preferences->Look & Feel->Display, pilcrow signs show at the
end of lines of tracked changes; note that they (correctly) don't
show for regular, i.e., not-change-tracked text.
The pilcrow sign appears on purpose to indicate that a paragraph break
has been inserted or removed.

The very useful toolbar at bottom left that showed things like the
font type (e.g., "Font: Default") or the name of the author who made
a tracked change in version 2.3 has disappeared in version 2.4.1.
I think this is fixed in version 2.4.2.
