Two points to consider -
a) it's difficult in the current layout to get one solution right for different

I managed to see the massage by enlarging the window. Sorry for the noise, I
should have find that by myself :-(
That said, in this particular case, there is not much difference in the message
length in English and in French.
b) we used to strive for dialogs which are not too big in either direction so
ppl with small screens can use it.
Sure, but length of messages with imported parts using the substitution
mechanism is quite difficult to predict, you have to see them in line.
