I picked up languages that use preedit strings, which resulted in cjk languages. I tested with several East Asian and Middle Eastern languages that use their own characters, but I couldn’t hit other languages that use preedit strings. Of course, the test does not include a full list of languages. So far, I could not find a reliable list of languages or IMs on usage of preedit strings. I saw a document which says Hebrew also uses an input method, but as far as I tested, it does not seem to use preedit strings. Hebrew characters are accepted in equations in LyX, and it seems if there is an appropriate font, it can compile on LaTeX. So, it seemed better not prohibiting Hebrew inputs in equations. This part of code prohibits only CJK from entering their characters in the math mode, so it is a minimal list. I’m thinking of taking a strategy to add another language if it is found to be appropriate to do so. Does it look good to do?
