Mohamed, thank you for your proposal. You make good points. But indeed,
LinkedIn is not particularly reflective of free software principles.
That said, we do have a Twitter (X?) account, although we don't use it
much and when the account was created I don't think there was any
practical open-source friendly alternative.
If you were very motivated for something like this, I would suggest to
ask LyX developers what platforms they would agree with supporting. For
example, I would be curious about Mastodon, if we thought that would be
useful.
One thing that might be useful would be to make our website lively
again, maybe by updating it and by having development news, like we used
to have. Teasing the new features of upcoming 2.5 comes to mind. This
would help revive our community.
