It seems that compiling on cxx is busted right now (interestingly, I
get different errors :). It has been reported to the boost list, and I
am awaiting for a proper fix.
_Or_, we could maybe keep our good old crc function, and avoid boost
bleeding edge features when not necessary (hint, hint).
