Math macros

1. Currently, it is not possible to have a macro like the following
\newcommand{\vect}[1]{\mathbf{#1}}

(it wasn't possible either with the old code).
However, it is not a big loss.

2. The opening of macro instances is irritating.
Any chance for in place editing ?
