You could copy open the .lyx file in a text editor. The formulas are stored as LaTeX there. Alternately, you could change line 108 in src/mathed/formulabase.C from '#if 0' to '#if 1'. Afterwards pressing backspace at the very beginning of a formula copys the formula as LaTeX into the main text. Sorry if both of these 'solutions' are clumsy.
