Does that also mean to forget about Allen's "comma/-" direct
input to From/To fields:

which is the specific dvips way of the page range!

Alternatively: let everyone enter what ever they want in the
From/To fields; no filter or input check whatever. If it fails, it
fails, well, as long as it doesn't crash LyX or, by error, send
a million pages to the printer.....
