I'm just new to wikis myself, but from what I've checked there are lots of
different types of wikis and some of them allow uploading files. This
actually includes the wiki-type in this case, but it doesn't seem to have
that function enabled.
If a wiki (by which I mean pages everyone can access and modify etc) seems
like a good idea, I think it would make sense to start one on the same
server as www.lyx.org (for reasons of backup if nothing else).

I thought about that as well when copied FAQ.lyx into the wiki, but
couldn't really find a good solution. I did some searches and tools like
that seem to be around, but decided it was easier to just copy and paste,
followed by some manual editing (surprisingly little actually).
I just used the mouse to mark chunks in the LyX window and pasted the
stuff into the wiki page, if your text isn't to long, this should work for
you too.
Anyway, if you just want a place to put the file, you can send it to me
and I'll keep it online for. Then you just write about it somewhere
on the wiki and give the link to it.

Well... if you like hacking scripts, I don't think it would be that
difficult to convert a .lyx-file to some wiki-style, but I'm just
guessing.
You could try sending a mail to the moinmoin developers list:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]
and see if they have any ideas about import/export to wiki. Otherwise,
I've found this page:
http://wireless.org.au/~tyson/tools/html2wiki/
with the promising name html2wiki, unfortunately it doesn't use exactly
the same syntax as the MoinMoin-wiki... sigh.. though I guess you could
probably use a search/replace on the output.

Yeah, I agree with you. It would be nice to have somewhere to put simple
examples files etc.
